Marina Hoermanseder is the queen of leather. She is certainly in the right place and in the right city where the words S&M and fashion rhyme together.
The Mood
The French/Austrian designer has always been captivated by 18th century orthopaedic corsets. Precise leathers and sharp cuts with fetish elements have always been her signature work. A "Marina Girl" is not for the faint-hearted.
The Dilemma
Hoermanseder's tenure at Alexander Mcqueen can easily be recognized here. Unconventional beauty goes hand in hand with the Berlin aesthetics. It is, after all, a celebration of individual fashion where one's style stands for a specific voice.
Our Review
Contradictions. Who would have thought that this word would bring great criticism. Hoermanseder has made the impossible possible. Pastel colors and fetishisms typically never come together, but the entire ensemblé has proven to be elegant and sartorially feasible. The designer has made leather an exciting piece for spring/ summer 2015.
